We’re Going Up! A Massive 2025 for the VCCL
By Chief Correspondent 1 December 2025

What a season! After months of grinding it out through the mud, wind, and rain, the 2025 XCR season has come to a close and the VCCL has plenty to celebrate.
The big headline? Our Men’s Division 2 team absolutely smashed it. Finishing top of the ladder, the boys secured the premiership and, more importantly, promotion to the Premier Division for 2026! Even more excitingly, 2026 will mark the first time since the club joined XCR that we will compete in the Premier Division. Moving up to face the state’s fastest powerhouse teams is a massive achievement for our club, and we couldn't be prouder.
Around The Grounds
It wasn’t just the Div 2 crew putting in the work:
The Div 5 Men showed some serious grit. In a tough field, they finished 15th, doing exactly what they needed to do to stay out of the relegation zone. Huge effort to keep the spot for next year!
The Women’s Div 3 team had a fantastic, consistent run, finishing 7th overall. The depth in this team is growing every year, and the vibes at the tent were always high.
Olivia Findlay deserves a massive shout-out. She finished 13th in the Female 40+ individual ladder which is a brilliant result in a very competitive category.
More Than Just Results
Whether it was the hills of Hanging Rock or the fast laps at Sandown, the spirit of the VCCL was on full display. From our top-tier runners like Will Lovett, Michael Marantelli, Riley Bryce, and Ashley Cowen leading the charge, to our Div 7 runners just starting their XCR journey, every point counted toward our success.
Thanks to everyone who ran, cheered, and helped out at the tent. It’s the community that makes this club what it is.
Bring on the Premier Division in 2026!
