Eppinger goes 'Back to Back'
By David Page 20 July 2015

Robert Eppinger's love affair with the Braeside 10km continued on Sunday with a convincing victory in the Eric Greaves Memorial. Eppinger ran a slick 34:34 to beat home Andrew Lane (45:53) and Gary Hall (38:40). Michael Marantelli (34:19) was the fastest male leading a big pack of 34min runners home and Corina Kapusta (39:21) picked up her weekly allowance as the fastest female. Dual Stawell 3200m winner Ian Burrows was one of the best credentialed runners to win the Novice runners award.
Other than the chilly start conditions were near perfect for the event which saw reasonably good numbers from all the groups participating.
Next week is the 3rd Annual Jayen Engineering 5km Handicap at Woodlands and should provide for some close racing based on recent results and will give the 5km specialists an opportunity in the second last 5km for the year.
